Jade Quarry Help
So lately I've been playing in JQ and I've checked a few of the meta builds and things, and most of them seem to be cappers, and cappers seem to be the most useful. I was wondering if there's generally a better class/meta build to be overall? or if a balance of them all is best? Basically what sucks and what doesn't suck in JQ, as I'm trying to farm Balth faction. It seems like Mesmer is generally the best all around class to be in JQ?

casters are always optimal in JQ, capping is essential. The Me capper to which you're reffering to is very efficient in capping and iterrupting enemy cappers, its decently noob-friendly. melee usually dont run builds to cap and tend to snare/kd opponents. Self-heals shouldn't be a priority in your build seeing as dying can actually be useful in some cases.
Overall if your team knows what its doing you should do well

Okay thank you, so do you think the Me capper would be the best class to focus on for someone who wants to be helpful in JQ but isn't uber-pro?

It depends on your play-style, roj monks are extremely useful, making full use of fallback/make haste (with this months flux the should even be buffed), they cap & heal/support. try the mes out and get a feel of the dynamics of jq, after that tweak your build or just change profession, the one thing i wont suggest is Necro bombers because they're just pure mindless cappers (dont want to offend anyone here :P)

Thanks for the help, I've been playing with the Monk build and doing pretty good. Too bad there are a lot of bots and people swearing at each other instead of playing a lot of the time. :P

As a monk I can say capping is good but living is better generally MB Invoke and mes builds work the best as you die less. Roj is a good cap build if no one attacks you, however I prefer my monks to keep the quarries/juggers up not prance around and die. So the best class is a healer, usually your team will cap shrines for you. If your good you can keep the shrine the whole game and get 5 or 4 points of of it. Yes cappers can get the same amount but the other team will get at least two points of a shrine with no healer. Ive been JQing daily for over a year I know my way around the field so I've seen what works and doesn't.

Idk I play wastrels collapse sin for the fun of it, I like being able to single out a target and eliminate it every 15 seconds. Depending on your team comp u can play w/e u want, dervish can be pretty effective cappers as well

When i play JQ i have a few favourite builds.
The Mo/P is the obvious choice ; easy, fun and strong.
Strong cap capabilities.
When i like to annoy the opponents i go with the Burning arrow/pin down ranger.
Fun to kill/slow their jug or turtle.
Then i sometimes play the N/A bomber, though it bores ya very fast.
The AP Ele is much more fun.

I gather from your profile your rolling sin, if so take a good gank build and kill cappers or carriers.
The majority of this community will tell you your an idiot for doing so.Ignore them.
Most teams, regardless of sync, will have cappers. That's a huge priority in JQ for obvious reasons. If you can gank or support a capper that can lead to a very easy win.

I'm a ranger monk, and go in with interupts, a preparation (ie Apply Poison or Kindle Arrows), and use Barrage.
What is really good is a Flame Ele Nuker with Meteor and Meteor Shower, and pretty much any other powerful AoE skill.
Both of these require you to sit on the ledges and hope your team is smart enough to cap once you've killed everyone.
Also Mo/P with Run Shouts are good to have

Don't run Mesmer it's fairly worthless, people only run it because it requires 0 thought. half the JQ Mesmer are bots. The thing is, it's almost impossible to tell the difference between a wastrels bot and a human Mesmer.
Maybe try a incindary ranger possibly with splinter and pin down. if you stay on an upper level you can cap shrines snare jade runners snare people on teleporters and generally wreak havoc on the enemy.
Someone will probably call me a noob and either say to run mesmer or a suicide capping build but rangers can do most things, and also without dying!(unless you need free TP across map XD)

If you want to run sin play a wastrels build if you don't mind what to play then imo RoJ Mo/P monk that keeps keep haste up on turtles and heals/caps when he needs to or N/A contagion bomber are the best "most useful" builds.

Running something like a Melshot Ranger or Shatterstone can be very useful for slowing down enemy carriers and cappers. It's particularly useful in controlling Yellow by snaring bombers/nukers and killing them before they get there, which can be a big factor in a match. I've slapped Malestrom on my bar because it has some decent shrine disruption utility(not for other players unless I can tell they're bad and will stand in it) to go along with Shatterstone's AoE from its buff.
